PROJECTS

GM LiDAR Surveys are specialists laser scanning subcontractors. We provide accurate pointclouds, Truviews and reference photography for our clients to build 3D Building information models or to produce CAD drawings.

Below are some examples of projects we have been involved in.

Victoria Station Underground Upgrades (GLA Developments)

As part of the upgrade works at Victoria undergound station, GM Lidar were tasked with surveying platforms and passageways across the station. We provided our client with coloured pointclouds and a full Leica Truview presentation of the areas surveyed. Our data was used to build a 3D model in Revit for architects to design new ceiling fittings throughout the station.

Royal College of Surgeons (Gleeds UK)

When one of the largest building consultancies in the UK approached us to provide laser scanning for Revit modelling, we were more than happy to help. At the Royal College of Surgeons, London, we had to be quick and discrete as this was an ornate building housing some of the most talented physicians in the world.

We provided an uncoloured pointcloud with a reference photography sitemap.

Slade Green Railway Depot (Plowman Craven Ltd)

Working with chartered surveying company Plowman Craven, we were asked to be part of a team surveying Slade Green Depot in east London. We surveyed large areas of track and roads quickly to adhere to limited weekend engineering hours.

We were able to do this using our two Leica HDS7000 scanners and Nikon SLR cameras simultaneously to pick up fine the details of track fittings, joints and surrounding areas.

London Basement Extensions

Basement developments in London have been a popular way of extending properties to add value and size, however when your next door neighbour tries to redefine their boundary under your house it becomes a legal nightmare.

Our client discovered a major discrepancy in the neighbour's previous basement extension boundary line as they excavated for their own basement extension. We were asked to provide a 3D survey with cross sections showing the boundary wall positions at ground and basement level. Along with this we suggested and provided a full Leica Truview presentation as a permanent record of the basement wall 'as it were' so that the development could continue and the site be revisited (digitally) at a later date.
